How to Use Snowboard Locks
Theft on the slopes is fairly common. Unattended pieces of Snowboard equipment and gear would attract the interest of other persons on the slopes. The Snowboard, which is perhaps the most expensive piece of Snowboarding equipment, is the most likely target. You would be lucky if you go back to where you last placed your Snowboard and find it still there. Others would just find their Snowboard missing after leaving after a few minutes or less.
The most effective tactic to prevent your Snowboard from being stolen is by using a Lock. Basically, Locks either have a retractable steel or a coiled leash cable varying in width and length that is used to loop around the Snowboard and into a rack or a fixed pole. A combination dial or a key lock secures your Snowboard. Generally, Locks are lightweight, compact and easy to carry. Some locks can even be put inside pant pockets without them becoming a hassle.
Before leaving your Snowboard anywhere, use a lock to protect your Snowboard or other pieces of gear. To secure your board, just insert the cable through your bindings and run it around a rack, a fixed pole or any stationary object. Insert the cable into the combination dial or key lock. Tug the cable to make sure that it is attached securely. You can now leave your Snowboard with some peace of mind that you can get it back.
