Burton: Boy's Apollo Snowboard Jacket - Created with low-bulk Thermacore™ synthetic insulation, Burton's Apollo Jacket helps trap body heat as the quilted microfleece lining pulls vapor and moisture away from the skin. It's a smart layer-free solution for young snowboarders who spend the entire day (sometimes even lunch) riding in varied weather conditions. The Storm-Lite 1.0 shell fabric is waterproof and breathable, but it's the lowest degree of vapor transfer (5,000-mm./4,000-g.) offered in the Burton outerwear fabric lineup. Is this a big deal? Not for most kids, who tend to perspire considerably less than adults--but it's still a small factor that parents should consider when buying outerwear for there kids (ask yourself what sort of conditions your kids ride in--most families are fair weather riders, so it won't be a problem). The Apollo offers extra pockets and pouches for energy bars and other snacks that help balance out the calorie count from that missed lunch. Mesh-lined Pit Zips™ beneath sleeves also help create a cross flow effect while riding, enhancing the overall venting performance during those warm spring days on the mountain.
