New Zealand - Freestyle Session
For those keen to develop their freestyle riding, whether they`re just starting out or are seasoned experts, our New Zealand snowboard camp is the place to be. While Northern Hemisphere snowboarders are battling it out on dwindling summer snow supplies, you can enjoy true winter conditions and tons of space at one of the world`s best terrain parks. In addition to quality superpipes, jumps and rails (shaped daily by the official X-Games shaper), you`ll enjoy expert coaching, stylish accommodation and the breathtaking scenery of New Zealand`s South Island. You`ll also have the chance to go heli-boarding and visit New Zealand`s best powder resort.
Open to riders of all abilities, our New Zealand snowboard camp is dedicated to those wishing to develop their all-round freestyle riding skills. Whether you wish to learn a new rail slide, improve your kicker riding, or hit the halfpipe for the first time, our world-class instructors will help you to reach your development goals. Our beginner program will start by teaching you the skills critical to freestyle: ollies, switch riding, 360 slides and will then introduce you to small rails, kickers and the beginner pipe. Our intermediate and advanced program is tailored to your needs – whether you want to perfect certain tricks or strengthen your overall freestyle performance, our instructors will deliver. All levels will receive video coaching and participate in trampoline sessions. There`ll be informal workshops on such topics as injury prevention and tuning and waxing.

Day 1 Welcome to our New Zealand snowboard camp! We`ll pick you up at Queenstown Airport and take you to our base – the laidback resort town of Wanaka which is set on the edge of a spectacular lake and surrounded by the magnificent Southern Alps. Here we`ll stay in stylish houses. Tonight you`ll be free to explore the many shops and cafés of Wanaka.
Day 2 - 4 The riding begins! We`ll head to the world`s only freestyle-exclusive resort where you`ll receive full days of coaching with our expert instructors. Terrain includes two superpipes, a beginner pipe, numerous kicker lines for all abilities, a huge rail park, a 15ft wall ride and a quaterpipe. The entire park is serviced by a chairlift (so no need for hiking) and there is an onsite DJ to keep you pumped all day long. In addition to world-class freestyle terrain, there are also two freeride resorts that we can visit in the event that we get a powder day and the group opts for some freeriding. In the evening we`ll offer video coaching and informal workshops and then we`ll head to the town for dinner. One evening we`ll visit some luxury hotspings, and on another we`ll check out what could be the world`s coolest little movie theatre.
Day 5 For those wanting to take a break from riding and explore a little more of New Zealand`s spectacular scenery, today we`ll offer an optional activity day. Choose from bungy jumping, 4-wheel dirtbike safari, sky diving, mountain biking, rainforest hiking and more. In the evening we`ll head to the local resort town of Queenstown to check out its countless restaurants, cafes, shops and bars.
Day 6 The freestyle coaching continues at our snowboard camp with full days of riding and small group coaching (maximum client-to-coach ratio: 5:1). Those who opted for the heli day will be shuttled off to the mighty Southern Alps for an unforgettable day of powder riding. After riding there will be more video coaching, followed by our last evening in the lively town of Wanaka.
Day 7 Our snowboard camp ends at Queenstown Airport.

Ask any of our past clients and they`ll tell you that one of the coolest parts of our snowboarding camps is the great people they attract and the fun that these people have hanging out together. Of course, if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday to yourself, you`re totally free to do so. But if you do want to use our snowboarding camps to get to know some awesome people and to enjoy some memorable nights out, there are always plenty of willing participants and plenty of things to do! Every night we`ll book a restaurant for those who want to eat as a group. Wanaka is home to tons of excellent, reasonably priced restaurants with food for every taste: from Japanese, Indian and Thai to Italian, Chinese and Fish & Chips (budget around US$12 – US$28 per day for lunch and dinner). After dinner the choice is yours, you can hit the bars, watch a movie, head to a café, or just rent a video and chill at home. In either case, prepare to enjoy some memorable nights and delicious food during our New Zealand snowboarding camps!
You should arrive at and depart from Queenstown Frankton Airport which is a five minute drive from Queenstown, New Zealand. We do not book flights for our clients. Please contact your local travel agent for information on booking flights for this trip. |
