SKI & SNOWBOARD TRAILS & ROUTES
Cross-country Skiing  Cross Country Trails
Beginner trails make up 40% of our terrain, intermediate another 40% and advanced the remaining 20%. There are many circuit trails which are groomed as conditions allow most of them can be started from the Windy Corner carpark close to the Nordic Bowl.

A variety of skating and classical trails are maintained within Falls Creek’s cross-country network. The High Plains Road often provides the best skating trails and for some good, groomed classical trails try the Mt McKay Road, Nelse Track and the 1.5km Nordic Bowl Loop.

In the height of the winter, particularly pre the Kangaroo Hoppet race week which attracts numerous overseas entrants, we have two drivers who groom up to 65kms of trails. Our network of Nordic trails from Falls Creek Alpine Village meander out to the magnificent Bogong High Plains and into the picturesque Alpine National Park, which is the largest designated national park in Victoria.
Skiing  Long time locals and first timers alike say the Freeriding terrain and features at Falls Creek in 2003 was the best ever! Get set to experience it all again in season ’04, only bigger and better.

Continuing their commitment to freeriders, Falls Creek Ski Lifts has made a decision to up the standard of terrain parks and pipes in Oz. Australia’s first and only Superpipe was constructed last season and the word from the Australian Snowboard Championships, (the Fructis Freeride Nationals), was that it was the best half pipe comp ever staged in Australia.

In 2003, along with the awesome Superpipe, the Terrain Park situated under Ruined Castle Chair was a monster. Picture four consecutive kickers, each a couple of stories high, each with alternative in-runs, half a dozen rails of various size and shape (updated throughout the season), two funboxes and a mini pipe.

Last year Falls Creek set Australia a new benchmark in freestyle terrain. With that knowledge to fire us on… get set for a huge season ’04.
