Grand Targhee is your Powder Paradise in the Heart of the Tetons! Consistently ranked as the "Best Snow in North America" by numerous national publications, our wide open slopes will provide endless opportunities for exploration! In 2001-02 we added over 500 acres of new terrain accessed via our detachable high-speed Sacajawea Quad Chairlift (not to worry catski aficionados, we still have over 1,000 acres of terrain reserved for Snowcat Powder Adventures). We now have two terrrain parks with the addition of our "North Pole" terrain park designed specifically for beginners to complement our expanded "Trick Town" terrain park. And be sure to bring the entire family as we once again received "Best Family Resort in the West" honors from Ski Magazine!

We're only a beautiful hour drive from Jackson Hole, WY, an hour and a half from Idaho Falls, ID, and only a short 5 hour drive from Salt Lake City, UT. Come visit the sunny side of the Tetons, you won't be disappointed

We now have two mountains for you to explore with over 2,000 acres of lift served terrain and an additional 1,000 acres of terrain reserved for Snowcat Powder Adventures, with every inch covered by our legendary Wyoming snow (averaging over 500 inches a year)!

Trails and Routes

 

Cross-country Skiing  Wildlife, mountains, pure air, groomed tracks and fresh powder come together and make for a cross-country mecca. Our comprehensive Nordic program provides many opportunities to explore the Tetons including lessons for every level.

Targhee's 15 kilometers of professionally groomed trails wind through wooded glades and scenic meadows. All trails accommodate both skating and classic cross-country skiing. The unspoiled beauty of this region is not to be missed.
Skiing  Picture just you and 9 other powderhounds venturing out to Peaked Mountain which has 1000 acres and 2400 vertical feet reserved exclusively for our powder cats. You can expect 7 to 10 runs a day which can mean up to 20,000 vertical feet. Half day and full day trips available.
Snowboarding  Terrain Parks
The North Pole Terrain Park gives everyone with a board or boards a chance to ease their way into the world of freestyle riding. Designed specifically for those less experienced in the way of rails, mailboxes and other terrain park features, this new addition will be located in the Family Fun Zone accesible via the Shoshone Chairlift.

Once you've mastered your moves, shift next door to Trick Town Terrain Park consisting of over 15 total features to thrill you; table top rail, rainbow rail, flat down flat, flat down rail, mailbox rail, helmet hill, flat rail, spine hill, and some fun boxes.

Don't forget our "Saturdaze in the Park" series featuring slopestyle, big air, and skier/boardercross competitions.Snowmobiling  Snowmobile Trips

Experience the thrill of riding a snowmobile in America's oldest national park. Targhee Snowmobile Tours offer day trips through Yellowstone National Park for a close-up view of bison and Old Faithful. Convenient Teton Valley snowmobile trips are also offered. Enjoy a full day excursion to Mesa Falls, Cave Falls and the Big Hole Mountains. Transportation is provided and families are welcomeSnowshoeing  Winter Wildlife Snowshoe Tour

Discover the winter ecosystem of the Targhee National Forest on snowshoes. Our expert guides lead winter wilderness adventures to seek out the tracks and signs of native wildlife and decipher their winter survival adaptations. No previous snowshoe or skiing experience is necessary. Reservations are recommended for this popular tour.
