Big Mountain
Big Mountain is located in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Montana, 32 miles west of Glacier National Park, 8 miles north of Whitefish, and 19 miles north of Glacier International Airport in Kalispell. In skiable acres, Big Mountain is one of the largest ski resorts in the US and Canada, priced at a significant value to destination and local skiers alike. We offer state of the art grooming, snowmaking, and lifts, as well as some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet. We are proud of the positive impact we have on the surrounding community and continue to offer free skiing on the "Village Lift".
As a summer resort, Big Mountain has been expanding its mountain bike terrain considerably. Over the past three years, we have created approximately 20 miles of mountain bike trails, including the Summit Trail, which was completed in August of 1996. In the summer of 1997, a new 6/10 mile beginner loop was constructed in the Village, along with 2.4 miles of connector trails on the Huckleberry and Summit trails. The use of these trails is free. Bikers not wanting to ride their bikes to the Mountain's summit can transport their bikes on the Glacier Chasergondola/chairlift for a nominal fee

| Cross-country Skiing | Big Mountain offers over 16 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, groomed for both classic and skate skiing. Located just below the Outpost Ski Shop at the base of Chair 6 (free lift), the trails wind through pristine forest and offer a variety of terrain for different skill levels. | | Snowboarding | Most Snowboarders agree -- Big Mountain's terrain is a natural playground! There's enough groomed runs for serious carving and tons of off piste terrain to keep even the experts busy.
Big Mountain Snowboard Team (BMST) Riders looking forward to competitive action with the Big Mountain Snowboard Team (BMST) can be rewarded with a solid, well-rounded training program to provide them with the basics for competition. Slopestyle, Boardercross, freeriding, and rails provide the backbone for our training program along with the camaraderie and fun of sharing the challenges of riding with fellow teammates.
Snowboarding Lessons All staff members have strong backgrounds in freestyle snowboarding with different areas of expertise. The curriculum for teaching is based on progression, so all ability levels of athletes are welcome. Training sites at the Big Mountain include a daily maintained terrain park.
