Spirit Mountain
Spirit Mountain is a ski and snowboard recreation area in Duluth, Minnesota. We were built in 1974 and since then have increased our number of trails by 78% and have tripled the size of our Chalet. We are located just minutes from downtown Duluth and all of it's amenities, and as you make your way down our long and winding slopes you can enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Superior and the St. Louis Bay. We offer a variety of terrain for skiers and snowboarders alike, and host several races and competitions throughout the season. Spirit Mountain also boasts a full Calendar of Events so that no matter when you choose to visit us, you're sure to have a great time! We at Spirit Mountain like to think of our guests as family.

| Skiing | Spirit Mountain offers 22 downhill ski runs with a 700 vertical drop, and a longest run of 5,400 feet! We have 175 acres overlooking the breathtaking views of Lake Superior and the St. Louis River. While night skiing you can see fabulous views of Downtown Duluth and the Aerial Lift Bridge. We offer unlimited FREE parking, and have one of the largest Chalet's in the Midwest. We have 5 chairlifts, including the Midwest's ONLY covered express lift. We've got brand new Salomon ski rental as well as some high quality skis and boots geared especially for women. Spirit Mountain offers some of the finest children's programs anywhere for 4-12 year olds, with a new kiddie terrain garden called "Port Gitchi Gummi" made just for those youngsters!
For parents with younger children we offer the convenience of a wonderful on-site children's center called "Little Cub Care".
This is a place for children 6 months and older to play games, color, watch movies, read books, and interact with other children in a safe, supervised environment with large outdoor windows so parents can stop by and watch their children at any time. This addition makes it possible for ANY family to fully enjoy a day at Spirit Mountain! And after a long day on the slopes, Duluth is just minutes away. There is a wonderful variety of lodging and dining options as well as an endless array of attractions, entertainment, and shopping. | | Snowboarding | Spirit Mountain is the Midwest's mecca for snowboarders! We have the largest terrain park in the Midwest, complete with two full-size half-pipes and a variety of hits, tabletops, spines, and RAILS! We also have terrain features on another run, called "Double Jaw" for some added variety. Spirit Mountain also offers 22 downhill runs for carving snowboarders, aside from the two with terrain features.
Our vertical drop is 700 feet and our longest run is 5,400 feet! We have a full fleet of rental snowboard gear which we add to every year, and every Wednesday night starting January 19th, we have Snowboard Night sponsored by two of our local snowboard shops: Freestyle of Duluth, and the Underground Board Shop. Snowboarders definitely have a place at Spirit Mountain! After a long day of boarding, Duluth is just minutes away with great hotels and restaurants, and tons of fun stuff to do! |
