Home of the region’s best Parks & Pipe, The Savage (named after Garrett County’s own rugged Savage River), has features that allow both old schoolers and new stars to express their individual style. With their own handle tow, you won’t be hiking to your favorite rail or table. The Super Pipe is a mountain monster sculpted from the world’s best snowmaking system carved out of the snow with a state-of-the-art Piston Bully Super Magician.

In addition to the 100" average annual snowfall , Wisp has one of the world's largest and most energy-efficient snowmaking systems to be found. The 100% airless snowmaking system is capable of producing over 36" of man-made snow in four days on 90% of our trails. Snowmaking operations at Wisp, with computerized weather and pumping stations is world renown for its efficiency! Others may have more pipeline or more slopes, but Wisp converts more water at higher temperatures than any other system. Wisp also has the capacity to make snow 20% faster with the 2002 addition of 24 snowmaking machines and the ability to replenish their 12 ponds with water from Deep Creek Lake. Wisp now has four times the amount of water and 15% more snowmaking equipment than the 2002 season meaning they can make snow earlier, more consistently and more often.
