Chestnut Mountain Resort
Located just outside historic Galena, Illinois, Chestnut Mountain Resort stands 475 feet above the mighty Mississippi River. With seventeen trails ranging from bunny to black diamond and the most diverse snowboard terrain park in the Midwest, Chestnut Mountain is a skiing and snowboarding paradise. Our nine lifts serve up to 10,000 guests per hour so you’ll spend your time going down the runs, not waiting to go up them. The Village Ski Center Pro Shop has over 20,000 square feet of the latest ski and snowboard gear, including rental services, and a knowledgeable staff to take care of every need.
Village Ski Resort
Our 20,000 square foot ski center features a large ticketing, apparel shop, and equipment rental area designed to speed you through 2,400 separate sets of rental units (skis, parabolics, snowblades, and boards).

THE SLOPES
Our seventeen downhill runs range in level from bunny to black diamond. And, our 475-foot vertical drop runs 3,500 feet. Two quad chairs, four triple chairlifts, and three surface lifts take you to the top almost as fast as you go down.
| | Snowboarding | First snowboards - now snowdecks! The integration of street and snow sports continues at Chestnut Mountain with the addition of our new Snowdeck Park. Sharpen your skills in this new sport on our obstacles and jumps.
TERRAIN PARK
Our terrain park is the largest of its kind in the Midwest. A triple chairlift takes you to seven acres of quarter pipes, tabletops, rails, kickers, box jumps, logslides, and two half pipes.
