Mohawk Mountain - CT largest ski area

Mohawk Mountain is Connecticut's premier snow resort, serving southern New England since 1948 with an exciting winter sport environment featuring skiing and snowboarding. The vision and design of ski industry legend, Walt Schoenknecht created Mohawk Mountain amidst the beauty of the southern Berkshires. In 1949, he assisted Mother Nature and snow enthusiasts by inventing snowmaking, now used at winter resorts worldwide. Walt went on to develop Mount Snow in Vermont. Today, Mohawk Mountain stands as his legacy to family fun in the snow.

Mohawk Mountain features two dozen trails for skiing and snowboarding ... all groomed by state of the art snowmaking equipment, five chairlifts, a wonder carpet for beginners and amenities for all snow sport enthusiasts. There is also cross-country skiing in the adjacent Mohawk State Forest (conditions permitting). Maps for the summer and winter trails in the state forest are available here Since 1990 most terrain is fully lighted for night skiing. Our Main base lodge, with its warm stone fireplace surrounded by antique skis and sleigh, offer a relaxed atmosphere perfect for anything from a steaming cup of hot cocoa to a hearty meal at our cafeteria.

The Winter Sports Learning Center accommodates skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities with professional programs from Skiwee for children to group and private lessons. The latest in ski rental equipment from Rossignol and Salomon is available from Skier Services, our equipment tech specialists or for purchase from our Ski Shop in the main lodge
