Crested Butte Mountain Resort
Crested Butte Mountain Resort is famous for it's steep and rugged ungroomed in-bounds terrain. Made famous as the home to the US Extreme Ski & Snowboard Championships. As well as this event, CBMR is also home to the local Al Johnson Memorial Uphill/Downhill Telemark Race, a zany and costumed tag-team uphill/downhill race on the resort's extreme terrain known as The North Face. Crested Butte Mountain Resort hosts other national winter events such as: The Life-Link/Dynafit Randonee Rally, The Elk Mountains Grand Traverse, and such events as Country In The Rockies.
Location Crested Butte is located in southwest Colorado, within the Gunnison National Forest and the Elk Mountain Range. The resort lies in the town of Mt. Crested Butte, only three miles away. The town of Crested Butte is one of Colorado’s largest National Historic Districts, originally settled in the 1880s as a mining supply camp.
