With a vertical drop of 2,550 feet and an overall skiable terrain of just under 2,800 acres, Big White is the second largest resort in British Columbia. You will never get tired of exploring this mountain!
It is so easy to get to Big White that you don’t have to worry about whether or not you will have a car. Big White is 56 km (35 miles) southeast of Kelowna, the largest city in the Okanagan Valley, making it easily accessible. You can drive, fly into Kelowna’s International Airport and take a quick shuttle, or maybe try the helicopter to get you to the resort.

At Happy Valley, you can speed downhill on truck-sized inner tubes, the kids can ride their own snowmobile and Big White’s skating pond is ideal for a classic Canadian game of hockey or a leisurely ice skate.
If you are looking for something different, why not view the scenery around Big White’s beautiful village on a serene sleigh ride through the picturesque snow covered trees? Or perhaps you’d prefer to discover the natural wilderness of the mountain on an unforgettable guided snowshoe tour.

Trails and Routes
General:
When you visit Big White you’ll find out what real snow is all about. Big White is blessed by over 24 feet of 100% natural champagne powder per year. It’s the sort of snow that makes average skiers and boarders look like real heroes.
The comfortable daytime temperatures average 3 C (27F), is cold enough to keep the snow light and fluffy, yet perfect for skiing, riding, and cross country skiing and winter activities.
Big White averages 24.5 feet (7.5 metres) per year of fresh champagne powder. Local’s call it “Hero Snow” because it makes you look so good!! The mountain’s amazing 2,765 acres of skiable terrain make it the second biggest mountain in British Columbia. Big White’s abundant snowfall, mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine make it an ideal place for skiers of any level. Every night after the lifts close, our expert grooming team set out to deliver velvety swales of corduroy for your skiing pleasure. Big White was awarded “Best Grooming in the West” by Ski Canada Magazine.
Big White also has a brand new terrain park boasting an Olympic size superpipe, snowcross course and rail park. TELUS Park is a winter playground like no other.
Snowboarders will love the snowmaking and lights for night riding, boarder cross, and the double chair for faster access.
Tours depart daily at 8:30 am, 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm. Drivers must have a current drivers’ license. People under 19 require parent or guardian to sign a waiver. The tour includes safety gear and hot chocolate.
(Optional $23 insurance fee with a $500 deductible.)

Grooming It’s no wonder Big White keeps winning awards like “Best Grooming in the West” by Ski Canada Magazine; Big White Ski Resort makes it a practice to groom virtually all green and blue runs every night. The steeper runs, those tilled with a winch cat, are groomed to perfection on a regular basis and a special pipe dragon is used to cut the half pipes and the Super Pipe.
