Boardforge, the luxury learn-to-snowboard holiday company, has shaved 35 minutes off transfer times by changing departure and arrival airports. Our weekend holiday experiences now fly from Gatwick directly to Helsinki, Finland, reducing transfer times to Lahti by 35 minutes. The complete journey will now take less than 5 hours from the UK, making learning to snowboard even easier and giving learners more time on the snow (and to party).
Boardforge is run by Jan-Erik Paul, a CASI level II instructor, who is based in Finland during the winter. In addition to snowboarding lessons, Boardforge is introducing snow-kiting lessons for 2011 on Vesijarvi lake from mid February (conditions permitting). Vesijarvi offers over 110 square kilometres of flat, safe frozen snow-kiteable terrain for those who are getting bored of snow park antics and are looking for the next new snow rush with speeds of up to 60 MPH and jumps in excess of 100's of feet.
Boardforge is opening its doors mid-December for first guests and the £695 cost includes lift pass, tuition, flights, luxury food and accommodation. With a maximum group size of 4, the tuition is very personal with one hour of private tuition per day plus two hours of group lessons.
