8 Feet of New Snow in 5 Days at Boreal

MONDAY, 25 JANUARY 2010
Submitted By: Mariangela Silvestre

The recent storm that blew into Donner Summit on Sunday afternoon has dropped 8 feet of fresh snow on the ski trails at Boreal making for season’s best conditions for weekend skiers and snowboarders.

“Staying on top of the back to back storms was our top priority” said Shaydar Edelmann, Director of Mountain Operations at Boreal. “Skiers and riders that braved the storm had grins from ear to ear, powder turns one after another” he added.

Boreal is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. “Boreal’s new 1-2-3 Ride Free Beginner program is attracting thousands of skiers and riders this season” said Ski School Manager, Nate Ellis. With a Free Season Pass offered at the end of our three lesson program, graduates get to enjoy the rest of the season for free.

“This storm, coupled with Boreal’s earliest season opening on October 9th has set the stage for an amazing season” said Jody Churich, General Manager at Boreal. “Plenty of snow, clear weather for the weekend, Boreal’s 5 terrain parks and an open freeway is the perfect scenario to get out and ski” she added.
