The River Run Gondola is slated for Keystone's 2008-2009 ski and snowboard season. This marks the initial effort by Vail Resorts to improve on the guest experience at Keystone Resort.

According to Pat Campbell, chief operating officer for Keystone, "The new River Run Gondola will represent the most significant on-mountain project at Keystone since the opening of the Outback Mountain in 1990 and the largest on mountain project for Vail Resorts."

Accordin
g to Campbell, the new cabins for the gondola were designed with passenger comfort in mind with floor to ceiling windows providing the best possible view and with room to accommodate skis and snowboards inside the cabin. Additionally the new gondola will offer level walk-in heated load and unload stations to provide convenient access for wheel chairs, mountain bikes, strollers, sight seers, mountaintop tubing and night time dining guests.

With the growing demand for women specific opportunities, the Island Lake Resort Group is offering their popular Girlski Tours at both Island Lake Lodge and Powder Cowboy Cat skiing this winter season.

Fresh dry powder, deluxe accommodation, and amazing food and wine shared amongst a few close friends have always been the draw of Cat skiing at these resorts in the Canadian Rockies. “After rave reviews from last year’s sold out Girlski Tours, we are excited to be o
ffering three Girlski tours this winter” said Kirsten Knechtel, lead guide and operations manger at Powder Cowboy Catskiing.

These all inclusive tours include the use of women specific powder skis or snowboards, deluxe accommodation, yoga, gourmet food and all the powder skiing one can manage in a day! Both operations also offer spa treatments, an eclectic wine list, and outdoor hot tubs. Girlski tours are run by female ACMG certified guides, and female cat drivers which helps to foster a supportive, non competitive and fun environment for the guests.

Mountain High is Southern California’s closest winter resort located just 75 minutes from Los Angeles and Orange County. The area consists of three separate mountains (Mountain High East, West, and North), and offers a wide variety of high-speed lifts and alpine trails, the world class Faultline Terrain Park, an outstanding Winter Sports School, and the region’s largest tubing park. Snowmaking covers more than 80% of the slopes delivering consistent snow conditions from Nove mber through April. Mountain High is traditionally the first resort in Southern California to open each season and the only local area with night skiing seven nights-a-week.

Check out how much cash can be saved by riding at Mountain High versus other Southern California resorts with the gas calculator. The feature works by entering current gas cost, car type, and location, then calculating the round-trip expense to several local areas.

Don’t forget, Mountain High’s $299 anytime season passes (regularly $599) are on sale until October 31, 2008.
