A 12-person jury said that Rachel M. Wiederhoeft was responsible for her own injuries from a snowboarding incident at the Cascade Mountain on February 2006.
The trial lasted for three and a half days. After two and a half hours of deliberation, the jury announced a unanimous verdict that the resort did not fail to maintain the trails. The jury added that Wiederhoeft's own negligence had caused her injuries.
According to court records, Wiederhoeft hit a tree while snowboarding on February 25 on an expert trail called Narrow Margin at Cascade Mountain and sustained injuries on both legs.
