The Royal Canadian Mint recently released the first Olympic 25-cent circulation coin of 2008 that features snowboarding. This is the sixth of the 17 circulation coins to commemorate the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Canadian Snowboard Federation CEO Tom McIllfaterick said that the federation is grateful to have their beloved sport immortalized through the Royal Canadian Mint’s coin.

The 2008 25-cent snowboarding circulation coin was designed by renowned Canadian artist Glenn Green. It features a snowboarder in the center along with a stylized maple leaf and the heading “Vancouver 2010”. The other side of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
