Snowboarding and skiing enthusiasts are invited to join Pats Peak Adult/Corporate Racing Series which will kick off tomorrow, January 2.
This competition is open to teams. Interested participant s who currently do not have any team may be assigned to other teams.
To join the competition, a registration fee of $650 for each team is required. This will cover the expenses for weekly races which will run for nine consecutive weeks.
The said fee also covers lift ticket from three in the afternoon to nine in the evening as well as the prizes, après-ski party and the awards dinner which will be held at the end of the series.

Renowned snowboard developer Jake Burton is posting a challenge to all snowboarders out there to get up and brave those “No Snowboards” signs.
The snowboard maker is currently offering $5,000 re ward for the best video of a snowboarder riding in those areas which still prohibit snowboarding, before Snowboard Police gets on your tail.
Some of the areas that still ban snowboarders include Vermont’s Mad River Glen, New Mexico’s Taos Ski Valley and Utah’s Alta Ski Area and Deer Valley.
Snowboarders are welcome to upload their videos on YouTube or at Burton’s own website. Four videos may be currently viewed online.

The US Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation’s President and CEO Bill Marolt recently revealed the names of its two new trustees namely, Palo Alto, California’s Frederic W. Harman and Macon, Georgia’s Robert F.
Hatcher.
Marolt’s announcement also discloses that aside from being top businessmen, both Harman and Hatcher are active in contributing to their respective communities and most importantly a passion for winter sports.
Harman is currently a partner in a venture capital firm, Oak Investment Partners of Palo Alto. Hatcher, on the other hand, is the president and CEO of a financial firm, MidCountry Financial Corp.
The US Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to support the US Skiing and Snowboarding Teams by organizing fundraising events.

Austrian snowboarder Stefan Gimpl bagged the coveted title after winning the Big Air Snowboarding World Cup event, which took place at Sofia, Bulgaria last Saturday, December 22.
Over 2,000 snow boarding enthusiasts descended at the Knyaz Alexander Batenberg Square to witness Gimlp’s magnanimous victory.
Coming in second is overall top ranking snowboarder Janne Korpi, followed by Slovenia’s Matevz Petek who bagged the third place title.
Meanwhile, the event, as expected, caused traffic on one of Sofia’s main boulevards but otherwise pronounced a huge success. It took three days for the ramp used in the event to be dislocated.

The Revelstoke Mountain Resort at British Columbia, Canada finally opened to skiers last Saturday, December 22. It was initiated with a ribbon cutting ceremony spearheaded by Revelstoke Mayor Mark Mckee.
Nearly 2,000 skiers and snowboarders alike were welcomed with five feet high snow, lift-serviced terrain that reaches up to 4,735 feet, and nearly 1,500 acres of skiing terrain.
The new facility also includes 27 new ski runs serviced by a $22 million Leitner Poma eight-person gondola as well as a high speed quad chairlift.
The new ski center was a joint effort of Don Simpson, Pobert Powadiuk, Hunter Milborne and Tom Gaglardi.
