Children aged 10 or those in Grade 5 are qualified to sign up for the Grade 5 SnowPass Program, which is sponsored by the Canadian Ski Council along with participating Canadian resorts.
With th e said program, Grade 5 kids can enjoy three days of skiing and snowboarding for free. The children may even choose from the 150 participating resorts. This includes 98 resorts from Ontario to Newfoundland and 52 in Manitoba to British Columbia.
Aside from the free three-day ski/snowboard coupons, participating kids will also get discounts and rebates on lessons as well as equipment rentals.
Registration for the Grade 5 SnowPass is available online both in English and French. The said program is set to kick off this coming December 1.

Boarding is more than a sport, it is a lifestyle. Based on this starting point, Rixon Company developed the Rixon Boarddock. This system makes it possible to hang up your beloved board as the ultimate decora
tion. So even when you are not using your board, you can still enjoy it hanging on your wall.
Rixon developed an alternative for hooks/grips from the do-it-yourself shops. As the prices of these hooks are low, it is important that they keep their system cheap.
Therefore, Rixon decided to make their product only available by way of the Internet, also they don’t waste any money on expensive and useless packaging, and the assembly guides can be found on www.boarddock.com. This way of working allows them to sell the Boarddock at only € 5 /set.
In order to check that their system really is cheaper, they went to a do-it-yourself shop and bought the materials for hanging up a board. Three rubber covered handles were bought (€ 1,8/piece). As you can see they already exceeded the amount of € 5. This without even adding the costs of the screws and plugs and the movement costs.
The most important advantage of their product is that the board can be fixed with only 2 wall fittings which are very subtle. All boards can be mounted in a horizontal and diagonal way and snowboards even in a vertical way.
The Boarddock is developed in a way that it fits perfectly for different kinds of board (snow-, wake-, kite- and skimboards). A second big advantage is the fact that it is very easy to take your board out of our system and to put it back in later.
About Rixon Company
The first Boarddock was sold on 7th September 2006. It became clear very quicly that there was a lot of interest in a simple and cheap system for hanging up boards. Thanks to articles in various board magazines the Boarddock has started gaining in popularity. Already after a couple of months the system grown into a true success.
Rixon works with few middlemen and is only active on the internet, in this way we are able to offer our product at a very low price. Originally Rixon was only active in Belgium and the Netherlands but it was soon decided to enlargen the market. On 30th August 2007 the new Rixon site was launched. This site, in 3 languages, makes it possible to spread our product over the whole world. The Rixon company makes use of 4 different distribution points.

The world's first online flash snowboarding magazine was launched last October 19. International Snowboard Magazine or ISM for short uses technologies that allow a full page flipping magazine experience on t
he web. The magazine is totally free to read and has all the qualities of a normal magazine but with the added bonus of embedded audio and video. The video is embedded right onto the page and streams whilst you read the magazine, so there is no waiting around for it to download!
The magazine also features a full screen option (located in the top left navigation bar) which allows readers on smaller screens to enjoy all the benefits that the magazine offers. You can zoom, print pages off and jump backwards and forwards as much as you like. This first issue features some amazing photography from Cole Barash, an interview with Nicholas Muller, a product heavy bindings review, backside handplant technique and literally loads more!

Christmas will no longer be the only holiday that is associated with snow and the month of December. Snowboarders worldwide are now anticipating the first ever World Snowboard Day.
The former E uropean special holiday will now be celebrated internationally this coming December 23. Thus, snowboarding enthusiasts all over the globe can now experience this wonderful occasion.
The much awaited event is presented by European Broadsports Industry Manufacturers Association (EuroSIMA). The event is also supported by the World Snowboard Federation as well as various clubs and resorts.
In celebration of the World Snowboard Day, partner resorts will hold various snow sport activities for free. These include lessons in snowboarding as well as product testing, concerts, contests and many more.

Meredith Parks & Recreation Gunstock recently announced the opening of registration for their Ski & Snowboard Program.
The said program is open to students who are in Grades K – 8. The program will go on for six Wednesdays and will begin this coming January 9th.
Meanwhile, those who are in Grades K – 2 are required to be accompanied by an adult in order to join the program. On the other hand, those who are in Grades 3 - 8 will be supervised by Parks & Recreation staff.
The registration fee will cover the weekly lessons as well as the expenses for the lift tickets and time for the improvement of skills. The deadline for registration is on November 3.
