Messler, National Snowboarding Champion

Bryan Messler, 20, of Guilford, Connecticut has dominated the U.S. Snowboard Association (USASA) nationals competition held at the Northstar resort in Lake Tahoe, California last April.
Earning three gold metals, Messler became the competition's overall winner. More than 1,500 competitors participated in the competition. Messler then went to Bad Gastein, Austria to compete in the Federation of International Snowbaording (SIF) "Race to the Cup" series. He finished third in the series. About 136 snowboarders from 42 countries participated in the series.
His ranking in the series qualified him for the U.S. Snowboarding Junior World Team. In the international rankings, he is in the 23rd spot.
