Smith Presents Venue and Venue Junior

THURSDAY, 25 JANUARY 2007

KETCHUM, IDAHO - With a streamlined low-profile look, refined colors, and the foundation of Smith's technical performance features, the Venue and Venue Junior set a new standard for the everyday snow sport helmet.

Created with In Mold construction, Venue helmets are made with high strength polycarbonate shells bonded to individual EPS liners during the molding process. The result is a helmet with crisp lines, exceptional comfort, and all of Smith's legendary technical innovations.

"The Venue and Venue Junior take the growing tradition of Smith helmets and builds it out toward a contemporary audience," said Eric Carlson, Smith Optics' Director or Product Development. "We focused on creating a low-profile, understated helmet that was modern in its design. Coupled with our great fit, we feel the Venue captures exactly what a lot of people look for in a helmet."

The Venue's lightweight build easily incorporates Smith's newest innovation - AirEvac™2 - an interconnected vent system that allows fog-causing moist air to easily exit from both the top of the goggle and the top of the head.

The venting on the Venue and Venue Junior is improved even more by Air Flow ventilation, which allows for seasonal climate control with removable vent plugs. Both also come with a removable air mesh Techliner™ and strippable Snapfit™ ear pads - features which are easily removed for quick washing or spring riding.

As with every Smith helmet, the Venue and Venue Junior features the new adjustable Helmet Fit System™ (HFS™), creating a premium custom fit through a specially molded liner and a simple one-button "set it and forget" system. The helmets are also covered by Smith's Lifetime Warranty and Crash Replacement Program.

Both the Venue and Venue Junior are available in six colors: Gloss Black, Matte Graphite, Gloss White, Gloss Pearl with ink Feathers; Matte True Blue; and Matte Bronze ($100)

The helmet is available in Gloss Black with Skullcandy™ Twin-tip™ audio packages included ($130), as well as in Gloss Black with Plantronics® Bluetooth™ audio ($270).
