Will You Be This Year's Best Rookie Snowboarder?

The search is on for this year’s best rookie snowboarder in the world. From June 28 to July 2, the 2006 World Rookie Fest Finals will be held at the Soelden Glacier in Austria.
The competition is open to young and up-and-coming snowboarders who were born on 1988 and later. Some contestants from Europe and Asia have already qualified by winning the respective competitions in their respective continents. Qualifiers from Asia were winners of the competition held at the Tokyo Dome on December last year while European qualifiers were winners of the Livigno World Rookie Fest last January.
Aside from the competition, there are other activities slated for the 5-day event like avalanche and rescue clinics, a visit to the glacier, and a lot of time to party.
