Denis Germain Memorial Ski Race to Held Feb. 25

Belleayre Mountain in Highmount, New York is inviting skiers and riders to join the 5th Annual Denis Germain Memorial Ski Race. The competition will take place on February 25. Its proceeds will all go to the Denis Germain Scholarship Fund which is given to members of the ski club at Suffern High School.

Registration fee is $25 and includes an all-day lift ticket, race fee and event t-shirt. The competition is limited to only 200 participants. Those who already have a lift ticket and wish to race will only have to pay $15, while t-shirts will cost $10. Registration is on site and will take place from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the Garden Room of the Overlook Lodge. Categories are divided by male & female in the following age groups for skiers: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-18, 19-34, 35-49, 50-64 and 65 & over. Snowboarding categories are 10 & under, 11-18 and 19 & over.

Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. This event is to commemorate the passing of Denis Germain, a firefighter who lost his life in the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. For more details, visit www.belleayre.com.
