Chevrolet US Snowboard Grand Prix Starts in Dec.

Watch your favorite riders as they compete for a place in the Olympics and a brand new Chevrolet Colorado truck at the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix! This is the tenth year of the leading snowboarding co ntest in North America.

Three major resorts have been chosen to be the last three stops for Olympic snowboard hopefuls. The Grand Prix series will begin on December 13-17 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, CO. Second stop is Mt. Bachelor, OR on January 5-8. Final leg of the Grand Prix and announcement of the Olympic Snowboard Team will be held at Mountain Creek, NJ on January 20-21.

A brand new Chevrolet Colorado Truck is up for grabs for the overall male and female winners of the Grand Prix.

Skiers and riders in Steamboat are sure not to be in want of snow right now. Steamboat reports that their famous Champagne powder is continually falling and enabling their resorts to open more terrain and lifts to their guests.

Currently, a base of 41 inches is reported at mid-mountain while the summit is reported to have a base of 57 inches. The perfect snow conditions have brought a s um of 949 acres of terrain, 58 trails, and 7 lifts open for Steamboat guests.

Steamboat boasts of having the driest and fluffiest snow in the world, thus earning the name of Champagne Powder. Also, according to meteorologists, Steamboat’s snow has 70% less moisture content than the usual snow.

Largest Ski and Snowboard Show to be held in LA

Southern Californian skiers or riders shouldn't miss Ski Dazzle, the Los Angeles Ski Show and Snowboard Expo that will be held on December 1-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This is Ski Dazzle's 42nd An niversary and is also the largest consumer ski and snowboard show.

This is Ski Dazzle's second expo with the first one held last November 3-6 at the E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Chicago.

Local to international winter resorts, major skiing and snowboarding factories, clubs, seminars, a $4,000,000.00 Ski & Snowboard Sale and freebies will be available for those who will attend. Some of the sponsors include Big Bear Mountain resorts, Snow Summit, and Sport Chalet. All sponsors will be at standby to showcase their latest products and affordable winter resort packages.

'Ten Weeks to Torino' Program Begins Today

Follow the US Ski and Snowboarding teams' progress and begin the countdown for the Winter Olympics in OLN's program "Ten Weeks to Torino." The program will cover the qualifying events leading up to the Winter Olympics that will be held in Torino, Italy. Fans who want to cheer on their Olympic bets in the comfort of their homes can start tuning in OLN every Sunday starting today at 5 p.m. ET.

OLN will follow the US Ski and Snowboarding team all over the globe to give same-day coverage of the pre-Olympic season. The show will also give viewers a chance to look at some of the world's major skiing and snowboarding locations. The events will be important as these will determine the final team for the Winter Olympics. OLN will also have an array of contests for their viewers.

Marquette Mountain Opens Today

Daredevil skiers and riders in Michigan and Wisconsin will be happy to know that Marquette Mountain opened today for the 05-06 wintersport season.

Visitors of Marquette Mountain were greeted with a per fect weather for skiing and snowboarding, new terrains, a brand new back country ski zone, new facilities and modified ski packages. The resort changed their special discounts that can only be availed by a particular group of people. Everyone is free to ride for a special price at given times.

Special events and activities await those who visit such as the Slope Poker where families will search for playing cards all over the mountain with the adult playing the best hand. There are also the Carload Days, Glow Nights, and Family Day every Sunday.
