Snowboarding Variations - Kite Snowboarding

Using kites has changed a lot of sports. A good example is Kite Surfing which developed from Surfers who used kites to propel their surf boards faster. Kite Snowboarding is a fairly new development in the sports arena. It is pretty similar to Kite Surfing but with one big difference: it is done on snow and not on Water.
In standard Snowboarding, the
Snowboard's movement is caused by gravity. You need an angle to use gravity, thus, Snowboarding is done in mountain and hill resorts. Kite Snowboarding is quite different. In here, the force comes from the wind and this force is caught by a large Kite. By holding on and steering the Kite, you are able to move on your snowboard. Like a sailboat uses it sails, Kite Surfers and Kite Snowboarders use their Kite.
Contrary to Snowboarding, Kite Snowboarding is best performed on level surfaces such as snowy plains and frozen lakes. Mountainous areas have very irregular wind gusts making it harder and more dangerous to Kite Snowboard. The gear used for Kite Snowboarding is pretty much the same as regular Snowboarding: snowboard (preferably twin tip),
Snowboard Bindings and
Snowboard Boots. Use warm, water- and wind proof clothing to keep you warm and dry. Since you're not on high altitudes, you can often wear clothes that are lighter than your
Snowboarding Clothing. As for your Kites, you can use the same Kites and Harnesses that are used in
Kite Surfing. All in all, you should be able to complement your regular
Snowboarding Gear with Kite Snowboarding Gear for a couple of hundred dollars.
If you really want to get started, you will need more detailed information on the different kinds of kites, harnesses and beginner approaches to Kite Snowboarding. For more information about Kite Snowboarding and Learning it, check out this wonderful site: www.kitesnowboard.com .

Your link to kitesnowboard.com is going to nearlyeverything.com ... not a snowboarding kite resource. Otherwise excellent content for my first read for this new awesome sport I want to get into, after two decades of snowboarding!
