Betty Rides Snowboard Apparel was established in March 1994 by Janet Freeman. Janet’s sister complained that she was tired of wearing men’s snowboarding clothes, because there was nothing else available. She wanted something that would show off her figure and make her look like a girl. Not too long after, Betty Rides was born. It was one of the first exclusively for women line of snowboard apparel to hit the market. Today, it remains as one of only two independently owned and operated companies in the industry that caters to women.
