Hi there,
I have been riding for three seasons now and never took any lessons, a friend taught em how to turn and that was it. Now got a new board, Nitro Magnum, it is a wide board (165cm and Im 190cm and have 85kg).
Went out riding with a new friend and he showed me how to go in ur knees, shoulders paralel with the board and he said that when I bend my knees and hit the road I need to have my right arm (riding goofy) always in front and low. Now when making turns it is a completely new to me, I can take a turn in shorter time and it feels just right. The problem is that when I do a right turn (angles +18 and -6) I cant put enough pressure on my back foot. I was thinking is that because of the angles?
How is about to try +15 -10 at first?
When I tried to go in my knees I could do quick turns and the ride was more fun, however riding on a steep slope I sucked...tries a moderate slope and I was all good, but still cant keep the balance when riding too fast. All in all, I do enjoy it a lot more riding the new way, just cant practice, the season is over for me, all snow is gone.
Anyone who experienced the same problem?
Did U change ur angles after riding different style?

What is probably happening is you are keeping your weight to far forward toward the nose of the snowboard all the time. Next year try to start with your weight moving from the nose of the snowboard back toward the tail of your snowboard. This will help distribute your weight more effectively along the edge of your board through a turn. Just remember when you finish your turn to move back forward to the nose for the next turn. My recommendation is take the time the first day of the season and take at least a half day lesson with a snowboard instructor. They will be able to help "clean" up your riding and put you on the fast track for having more fun the whole season.
