Hey guys, I''m looking for advise on a board for air tricks. First let me tell you a little about myself and my board. Im about 6`1, 200lbs and have a wide body frame. Right now I''m on a 2010 burton freestyle board, the custom wide. I dont have any problems getting good air and I love the board. The board doesnt feel too heavy, doesnt feel too light and does not have much flex to it. I feel uneasy trying to move the board in the air, but I''m not sure if this is just because im just starting to try these things. I''m just hitting small box jumps and blasting off the top of peaks so its not much hang time. Please discuss this and let me know what YOU think! :]

The reason the Custom is stiffer is because it was made mostly for speed and jumps, so in terms of board advice I'd stick with what you have.

You are learning to use that stiffness as a loaded spring and pop yourself into the air, which will take some time. Take a look at this video on ollieing (jumping) for a skateboard:

Obviously in snowboarding you are strapped in, but you can see how he keeps his weight concentrated on the back of the board to get it to spring into the air. The rest is a matter of timing, which comes about from tons of practice.

Good luck.
