Hi Everyone-

My name is Keith and I just wanted to stop by and say hi. I am new to snowboarding and have been doing it for about a month now and I love it! Being a father, husband and Architect; there was just not enough time in the day for a hobby or so I thought. However this Xmas my wife bought me a snowboard for my present and stressed that I needed to get out when I could and have some fun for myself. So for the passed month on Fridays I go board for 4 hours and come home by 12:00pm to work and be daddy when the kiddies come home from school. It has been awsome and just a great relaxing time to reconnect with myself and to be outside hearing the crunch of the snow. In this last month I have fallen alot, made a fool of myself and ate a lot of humble pie on the bunny slope. However I also experienced a sense of "freedom" that is hard to explain when I am on the slopes determined to learn this sport. I am getting down the basics, picking myself up and having a ball doing it. It truly was one if not the best Xmas presents that I have ever gotten.

This is my second post here and my first season 'boarding. Don't be discouraged or feel like everyone is watching you when you fall, I see the slopes covered with beginners and novices who probably are the majority of people on the slopes, everyone started somewhere and all can relate. I see experienced riders fall, albeit they're on advanced trails, you're inevitably going to catch an edge sometimes, it's all a part of the sport and the experience.Take a lesson or two and keep at it, it is addicting and very rewarding despite how frustrating it may be at first. I say this with having only 5 days under my belt, but what most riders say and my own experience is the initial learning curve is steep but it will soon start to feel more natural, you will steadily gain control, confidence, and eventually more speed. Keep at it and see you out there!
