well, last year i used a cheep thin jacket that wasn't made for snowboarding and i got soaked through. I just bought my new jacket this year its burton and its really warm. I think its worth it because itll last u a while untill u grow out of it. And it might be easier to go to a snowboarding store because they have really good deals. I go to fat trax and theory in Massachusetts, but you would have to find a place near you.

I wear a spyder jacket. They're pricey, but completely worth it. I was dry and even worse it at Whistler last spring (rain and slush). Completely warm, tons of utility. Its also pretty lightweight for how warm and dried I stayed. I didn't feel like I was an astronaut and I was definitely dry (I consider dry to be extremely important since being wet can ruin your day).

Why not look for more jackets here?

I bought the Burton Element Jacket which is now on sale. I really like the fact that it's lightweight and durable.

Yeah, I agree Burton is one of the best when it comes to snowboarding gear. Check out the shop section in this site. They have a lot of stuff to offer.

I've been using my old Columbia Titan ski jacket (7 years old) with a pair of new Session snowboarding pants and stayed totally dry. The only problem is the jacket is getting a little road weary and worn. The pants have been amazingly waterproof and warm.

Last night on Steep and Cheap (google them if you haven't heard of them) I got an 08 Sessions Jacket for $75 bucks. It normally lists for $240 so I was psyched! I hope it is as good as the pants I've been using. If you are looking for cheap quality clothing all I can say is give them a try.
