Hey folks, I''m new to snowboarding (and to this site,) I''ve been big into SKATEboarding for almost 10 years now and I''ve always been interested in snowboarding but never really had to funds (or time,) to pick it up. I do now, and this season will be my first one. I''m gearing up and whatnot, and I know the general idea on what I would need. I am committed to the idea of buying all of my gear, so I''m not looking for advice that''s saying I should simply rent for a while or not ''blow'' my money.

So in closing, I just wanna know what you people think is required, in terms of gear, for me to start up snowboarding, and if you have any suggestions as to what brand/model of said gear I should buy for legitimate reasons. That''d be stellar.

Thanks people.

The best snowboard for regular downhill snowboarding is either a K2 or a Burten. the bindings aren't that big of a problem except if you cant get them to open and close easily because they will jam even harder when they're packed with snow. Solomon or Burton boots are great, but just find something that fits comfortable.
