I love to just go fast and bomb double blacks, however I live in Pennsylvania so back country and such is not an option right now. I mostly just like riding slopes but I do enjoy going off jumps once in a while. What is the BEST board out there for the uses above? When I say best, I mean money doesn''t matter, like an expert board. It has to be able to ride switch, both goofy and regular. And what are your thoughts on magne-traction?
I was thinking the Lib Tech Banana Magic? Your thoughts?
Also help me with snowboard knowledge? What is BTX, MTX, rockered, cambered, reverse cambered? What does all this mean and what kind of riding is it best for? Any other snowboarding knowledge is appreciated.
Help with types of snowboards?
Can you differentiate these three types of snowboarding. Give specifics on each and what snowboard would best suite the type of snowboarding.
Free ride or All Mountain Board
Freestyle
Alpine or Carving snowboards

Ah, a Lib Tech question, my specialty, and personal preference for riding. :)
BTX (Banana Tech) - BTX is a great concept of reversed camber (a banana underneath your feet),
so when you stand on your board, you have a perfect distribution of
pressure, so your carves are always evenly distributing sidewall on
every turn. Thinking about turning, BAM, you begin turning. Extremely
responsive, which is complemented GREATLY by MTX. Its easier to
understand by going to the lib tech website, and clicking on the little
animation they have for the BTX.
MTX (Magne Traction) - Aha,
My favorite feature of my Lib Tech babies! Instead of a conventional
sidewall, with the edges in a seamless unassuming arc, its the principle
of multiple points of contact for each turn. The technology envelopes 7
grooves along the sidewall, making a serrated edge of each side. These 7
points of contact allow for maximum performance in ANY type of weather
condition. When you add BTX and MTX together, imagine.. power steering
and all wheel drive for your snowboard.
The
Banana Magic is a pretty bad ass board, but for $30 less I opted for the
stiffer Dark Series. The only difference I can see in the 2 boards is
this.. Banana Magic is True Twin directional (great if you ride switch
often) and it has horsepower technology, which basically means, if you
decided to step on it, your going to feel like your opening up a
throttle. I chose the Dark Series over that because I don't ride switch
enough to care anymore, and the Dark Series already has riser plates
built in, so the throttle control is still there, just not labeled the
same. Its your choice, but since Ive began to love backcountry more and
more each year, a stiffer all mountain board that's slightly biased in
favor of backcountry was my clear choice. The Banana Magic is truly the
embodiment of a balanced ALL MOUNTAIN BOARD. Hope some of this helps!
