ABOUT US
Located 74 miles north of Glasgow, Glencoe extends over 200 hectares and operates on the Meall A'Bhuiridh Massif, amidst some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland.

Originally known as White Corries, Glencoe was the first commercial Scottish Ski Area with the construction of the first overhead ski lift on Meall A'Bhuiridh in 1956.

We now operate 7 days a week not only providing our customers with better service, but also employing around a further 30 staff in the winter season.

With 7 lifts and 19 runs, Glencoe is by no means the largest ski centre in Scotland, but it's still a firm favourite with many Scottish skiers and boarders thanks to its unique and exhilarating terrain, and a snow holding record second to none.

THE ENVIRONMENT
Glencoe ski area lies in the midst of some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery, of national importance for its high landscape quality. Nearby, the rocky peak of Buchaille Etive Mor (meaning the great shepherd of Etive) thrusts high above the entrances to Glen Etive and Glen Coe. The view of it from the ski centre's car park or the restaurant window is superb and the prospect from the top of the chairlift, across Rannoch Moor to Ben Nevis, is unsurpassed at any other Scottish ski area.

Part of the ski area lies within the Stob Dearg and Cam Ghleann Geological Conservation Review Site of Special Scientific Interest, and all of it is within the Ben Nevis and Glen Coe National Scenic Area. The corrie behind the top of the chairlift contains an interesting series of moraines deposited by a small glacier long after the main ice age, and remarkable miniature lobes and terraces that are still changing due to freezing and thawing in the subarctic-oceanic climate.

- Beginners / Novices
The relaxed atmosphere and our friendly instructors make learning at Glencoe an enjoyable experience. From the gentle nursery areas on the Plateau and easy progression onto Mugs Alley, beginners and novices can enjoy the forgiving nature of the lower slopes before moving onwards and upwards.

- Intermediates
With such a tremendous diversity of terrain, we offer a variety of intermediate runs guaranteed to suit every mood. With this much choice, it is easy to see why Glencoe is the first choice for many Scottish skiers and snowboarders.Snowboarding  Glencoe has some of the most challenging riding of any of the Scottish areas it is famed for having some of the best freestyle runs and is without doubt, one of Scotland's best snowboarding areas.

Although generations of skiers swear allegiance to our unique atmosphere, we've become a firm favourite with boarders who find the unique terrain particularly challenging. With such an incredible diversity of natural jumps, drop-ins and wide open free carving runs, Glencoe is a great big natural funpark! But don't be put off. If you're a beginner, the Plateau runs are just perfect for getting started and Mugs Alley is a great confidence builder.

- Beginners' Areas
The Plateau runs are perfect for absolute beginners whilst Mug's Alley is a great confidence builder.

- Freestyle Terrain
Glencoe has some great natural freestyle terrain. While other areas have had to design and purpose build parks, Glencoe was designed by nature to be one of the UK's premier venues. Try Thrombosis (steep sided gully run), The Canyon (including the "bum hole") and The Wall for the best freestyle areas.

- Freeride Terrain
Glencoe is a veritable freeride paradise. The best runs include The Canyon (steep, wide fast gully), Happy Valley, Main Basin, Rannoch Glades, Etive Glades (progressive blue snaking down the mountain) and the Access Chair run (red).

- Alpine Terrain
As well as incredible freestyle/freeride terrain, Glencoe also offers excellent alpine areas. Try Etive Glades (long wide blue run), Happy Valley, Mug's Alley, Main Basin (wide, blue open run) or the Access Chair (blue) for the best runs.

- SteepTerrain
With the steepest on-piste run in the UK and its multiple off piste possibilities, Glencoe is considered by many riders to be the most extreme area in the UK. Try the Fly Paper (Scotland's steepest on piste black run) or the Access Chair run (black) for the most accessible steep terrain.
