Carlisle Ski Club
The aim of Carlisle Ski Club is to promote snow skiing and snowboarding in the Carlisle and surrounding districts. It has a snow slope located south of Alston at Yad Moss. The club members run the snow slope whenever there is sufficient snow to ski or snowboard.
Facilities on the slopes: *The fine stone day lodge and ticket office were recently built with lottery money and a Sports Council grant. *The day lodge has Club Room and toilet facilities and garage for the piste bashers: two Kassböhrers will make the most of any snow (This should be completed by next year) *At the moment, the toilet/club room facilities are not quite complete but should and will be ready in the not too distant future. *At the bottom of the slope, there is a new ticket office complex. *Halfway up the mountain is a lunch hut - just the ticket when the weather cuts in.
