Tarnaby - Hemavan is known for its skiing and for producing a number of celebrities in the skiing elite - Ingemar Stenmark, Stig Strand, Bengt Fjällberg and recently Anja Pärson. But there is so much more to discover – all-year round.

SUMMER
Everyone should experience summer in the mountains with its alpine flora, hiking, pot holes, glaciers, and majestic views.

AUTUMN
Autumn is special in the mountains. The fresh, clean air and the dynamic colours make this an extraordinary time of year.

WINTER
Winter days in the mountains are filled with snowboarding or other activities. In the evenings, there is good food, dancing, and other forms of entertainment.

Here are some of the activities that you can do and enjoy in Tarnaby - Hemavan:

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
On specially-prepared tracks or trips on to the mountain - the choice is enormous. Kungsleden (Royal Trail) is a 420 km trail through the mountains of Sweden. It starts in Hemavan and has cabins along the way. There are prepared trails in Hemavan, Klippen och Tärnaby.

SKI SLOPES
On two skis or just one with slopes suitable for everyone. Snowboard Land in Tärnaby, training camps for teams.

HELISKI
Europe’s largest nature reserve is the location for this complex activity that combines speed and excitement, as well as the mountain landscape with its tranquillity. Norra Sytertoppens peak is 1767 m and has a drop of more than 1000m, making it a fantastic off-piste area. Experienced guides accompany all trips.

Weather permits this activity from the middle of March to the end of June.

FISHING & SNOWMOBILES
We spend a lot of time taking care of our trails that are usually lined with thin birch saplings or with red ribbon. The snowmobile will take you through spectacular mountain scenery, forests, and to frozen lakes stocked with fish.

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS
Snowmobiles are permitted to use over 400 km of trails. These are also open for skiing, hiking, dogsledding, and other recreational uses. Please be careful – the snowmobile must give way for all non-motorized users.
