Lofsdalen
Lofsdalen is a glittering winter gem, nestling on the shores of Lake Lofssjön against a backdrop of mountain peaks. It's a setting where everyone in the family can escape the pressures of everyday life and take time to enjoy skiing, après ski or fishing - and a place that offers you plenty of opportunity to relax with good food and good company in front of a roaring fire.
If you choose to spend your holiday in Lofsdalen, you can choose from many exciting activities in a majestic natural setting. Lofsdalen is a genuine Swedish mountain village, where you are never far from the peaks above the tree line, the great wildernesses, the forests and waters teeming with fish.
Lofsdalen in Härjedalen is a mountain village of great charm. It is situated on the Lake Lofssjön between the mountain peaks of Hovärken and Sömlingshågna (1,200 m above sea level). The nearest town is Sveg, 65 km away.

Fishing
The wait by the hole in the ice can feel almost endless at times – but when the char finally bites, that’s when you know the meaning of true happiness! There are large numbers of salmon trout and char in the waters in and around Lofsdalen, but you can also fish for pike, perch and burbot. You can buy fishing gear, and experts are on hand to help. There are also rainbow salmon in the “put-and-take” pool.
Scooters
Driving a snowscooter is fun and fast. Mile after mile of well-prepared scooter trails await you. In Lofsdalen there are several scooter rental firms who will ensure that you get the best equipment. For those who prefer, guided tours are arranged every day.
Competitions
Are you spurred on by a competitive instinct? Every week several different competitions are arranged in which you can compete for distinctions and awards. All participants receive a diploma.
Evening skiing
When darkness falls, electric floodlights illuminate five of the runs to make skiing them a truly special experience. You can do this once a week and on two evenings at New Year, during the winter sports holiday and at Easter. We keep the following lifts running: Lången, Skistar and Toppen.
Special events
A skiing holiday in Lofsdalen is much more than “merely” skis and snow. The après ski on the slopes, the barbecues and speed skiing are just a few examples. If you visit Lofsdalen as part of an organised group, you can try parallel slalom, or why not attempt the pentathlon with axe throwing and clay pigeon shooting? These can be booked at the ski school reception.

| Cross-country Skiing | Lofsdalen is the mountain village with something for every skier. There are 70 km of prepared tracks here as well as 150 km of marked tracks. A stop for a picnic lunch at “Solgropen” (Sunny Hollow), a hollow sheltered from the wind, is highly recommended. Skijoring behind a snowmobile up to the Lofsdalen waffle hut on Mossaruten is another must-do. Freshly baked waffles with the view across the mountains of Härjedalen – you can’t beat it! The Tourist Information Office will help you with other tips for exciting ski trips. | | Skiing | We offer alpine skiing on 25 pists, with 9 lifts and an overall drop of 429 m. There are well-prepared slopes for slalom, telemark and snowboarding. The slopes are south-facing, with varying levels of difficulty. You can choose between tracks which wind through the forest, or more open runs higher up above the tree line. | | Snowboarding | Snowboarders have two areas. One is a dedicated 1.9 km long run, crammed with jumps of different sizes, ravines, slides, tabletops, quarterpipes and a Big Jump. The other is in the middle of the skiing area with a Big Jump. |
