In the Ortler area particularly the nature, the special Flair of the culture landscape, and above all the human warmth of the hosts, are amazingly noticeable. Encircled by fourteen 3000 m mountains and directly beneath the majestic Ortler at 3905 m, Sulden is the birthplace of mountain tourism. On a high plateau at the end of the valley, the remarkably mild climate allows the timber line to rise to 2450 m. The tourist tradition is longstanding and the accomodations are superior: 2000 guest beds in predominantly owner-managed hotels, pensions,restaurants, garnis (B&Bs) and apartment houses offer accommodations for every taste. Sulden has indoor swimming pools, saunas, steam baths, and whirlpools for relaxation, bars, and discos for socializing, and excellent restaurants.
WINTER:
The ski area in Sulden (1900 – 3250 m) offers something for everyone, including 40 km of ski trails for skiers of all abilities.
You can be sure of snow in Sulden throughout the winter season, from mid-November to early May.
Go downhill or cross-country skiing, carving, snowboarding, or just daydream in the fantastic winter atmosphere around the Ortler. A winter vacation in this beautiful mountain world is an unforgettable experience - great natural scenery, fun in the snow – let your imagination go!
SUMMER:
Summer, time for dreams and recovery. Approx. 100 km maintained and marked hiking ways kidnap you into our singular mountain world. Comfortable ascent systems bring you on our mountain huts, where you are spoiled with local courts.
The holidays region Ortler, in the midst of the national park Stilfserjoch, surround from 14 3000m mountains, all outstandingly king Ortler, with 3.905 m the highest mountain of the east alps, a tourist heaven which looks its same up.
A popular motive for photo are the tibetan high land cattle, the Yaks. Reinhold Messner brought the animals 1985 after Sulden. Meanwhile, they feel just as well as in their homeland.

| Cross-country Skiing | Did you know that Sulden has one of the highest cross-country trails in Europe? Many top-class athletes take advantage of the high altitude to train for competition. At 1900 m, Sulden is an ideal training location. The trail is 7 km long (classical and free style).
