Seiser Alm Alpe Di Siusi
The Seiser Alm with its many varied reliefs, spacious ranges and bounteous panoramic viewpoints has always been one of the most impressive showpieces of the Alpine Area. Located in the Western Dolomites the Seiser Alm forms together with the "Schlern" and the "Lang- und Plattkofel" a compact, as well as an open high range area. The panorama stretches out between an altitude of 1700 and 3000 m, in an area of 5400 hectars, with many varying faces and aspects in winter and summer. Its breathtaking landscape offers guests and locals uncomparable experiences of sports and nature, especially in winter. Stability of snow and a variety of sports and leisure facilities makes the Seiser Alm an ideal winter holiday resort for the entire family.
Due to the multi-charactered rock structure and slope formation, the high stability of snow and the rich quantity of sun, the Seiser Alm has been counted for decades amongst the favourite ski and wintersports regions of the Dolomites. 24 cable, chair and ski lifts and no less than 84 pistes form a large surface area network of high specification ascent and ski-off point opportunities. Just this co-existence alone of easier and more difficult ski challenges together makes the Seiser Alm one of the most thrilling allround ski regions for beginners and intermediates; and an arena for ski passionates, part-time ski acrobats, children and families. Alongside the funicular Groeden-Seiser Alm the ski area is now also accessible through a new state of the art cable car from Seis, guaranteeing quick access through a succession of cabins with a capacity of 16 persons each.

Seiser Alm Witches Route: Named after the legendary Witches of Schlern, who inspired the local emblem, this is a day's ski trip with easy to intermediate degrees of difficulty. The route brings you to the best vantage points of the Seiser Alm, said to be the former gathering posts of the whitches: Puflatsch (2,130m), Spitzbuehl (1,935m), Panorama (2,009m), Goldknopf (2,249m), Williamshuette (2,100m), Dellai, Monte Piz and Piz (2,005m). Seven wooden installations and a park with lifesize figures play tribute to the witches legendary gatherings a long time ago. The big witch book, displayed on each station, relates the legend and reveals some rare culinary creations.

Speedtrap: The speed measuring device at the Goldknopf and Leo Demetz allows you to ascertain your own speed. Last winter the record speed measured here was 125 km/h. | | Snowboarding | Snowboard Park Seiser Alm Great news for all snowboarders, as the snowboard area has been extended. The new Snowboard Park Seiser Alm, on the slopes of the Laurin, includes next to the 100m long and 15 m wide halfpipe a further 4 roils, 2 boxes, 1 jump and a quarter. This should add to even more adrenalineproof stunts and exciting viewing. To avoid any risks we strongly advise to respect the park rules. |
