A small, all-year skiing area with snow guaranteed in the heart of the South Tyrolean Alps a stone's throw away from Meran. Special features include the peaceful location far from the mass ski resorts of the Dolomites and the area's openness. The large-cabin gondolas of the cable railway can take up to 80 people up to the Hochjochferner in 6 minutes from where an 8-km long downhill run awaits the many winter fans. You can get to the nearby ski runs easily from the valley using the chair lift. The region is ideal for both beginners and specialists alike. Each year, various national skiing teams come to our glacier for their pre-season training. Pleasant surroundings and a friendly atmosphere guarantee wonderful winter evenings. Famous because of the nearby site where iceman Ötzi was discovered on the Hauslabjoch, the Schnalstal skiing area offers ideal conditions for sporting families and winter-sports enthusiasts of all ages.

The skiing area is an insider's tip especially in winter: short waiting times for the chair lifts, well laid out ski runs, plenty of parking space and excellent value for money thanks to a sliding scale of prices for day tickets starting from 11.00 a.m. guarantee a pleasant skiing holiday.

Thanks to the sun, you can get a famous glacier tan for free starting in March. You should keep an eye on the dosage though (we recommend a high sun protection factor and sunglasses!). Our Alpine huts in the skiing area offer the ideal vantage points with a panoramic view. In the charming huts surrounded by 3,000-m peaks, we will pamper you with local specialities, it's our hospitality that makes it possible.
