No lodging in Bolsterlang or Sonderdorf lies more than 500 m from the entrance (Dorflift). We offer the ideal family skiing area for young and old; ski runs ranging from light to difficult provide you with all your heart desires.
Our family skiing area is special because it is so quick and easy to reach the practice slopewith its Dorflift. The practice slope for beginners is only minutes away from the challenging "Hoerner“ skiing area on the "Weiherkopf". It is no problem for you to drop off the kids at the ski schools near the Dorflift on your way to the more challenging areas.
But wait, skiing is not the only winter activity you’ll find here.
The Allgaeu is known for variety. For example, you can discover the snow covered winter world with snow-shoe hiking. The well-groomed trails all around Bolsterlang are also like paradise for cross-country skiers. In connection with surrounding communities, we can offer over 50 km of well-groomed trails for your skiing pleasure. Or you can forgo special equipment and simply take advantage of our winter hiking trails.
Of course, so much activity in the fresh mountain air can make you hungry. No matter where you decide to drop, in the many mountain restaurants, cabins, guest houses and restauraunts offer something just right for every form of hunger and thirst: and it‘s all within walking distance.

| Cross-country Skiing | The cross-country ski trails in and around Bolsterlang are like paradies for every skier. Together with the other n“Hoernerdorfer“ (partner communities of Fischen, Obermaiselstein, and Ofterschwang) you’ll find 50 km of well-prepared trails ready for use. There is something for everyone: flat trails with breathtaking views of the landscape, trails through the deep snow of the woods and meadows, and one or another trail with a steep incline to test your condition.

Just in case our Sun-Plateau gets too much sun and the snow conditions suffer, there’s always the bus to Balderschwang. The Balderschwang valley (also known as „Bavarian Siberia“) has 50 km of well prepared trails for which only those arriving by private car have to pay a parking and usage fee.
Yet more challenging trails can be found in the Oberstdorfer area known as the Roormoos, where you’ll find a peaceful valley far away from disturbing traffic noise. Our’s is the ideal ski region for all of your skiing needs. Leave your car and step directly into the alpine ski area at the Dorflift, between Sonderdorf and Bolsterlang. There are 12 trails, rated from easy to difficult, to provide skiers and snowboarders alike with all that their hearts desire. Here is more information concerning our ski region – Hoernerbahn!
The ski-schools in Bolsterlang have 2 beginner’s slopes to learn the art of skiing or snowbarding. It is especially easy for students to reach these slopes. Your kids will be well taken care of at our ski schools.
The cold, clear mountain air can certainly make you hungry. No matter where you decide to drop in. our mountain restaurants and cabins have just what you need for every form of hunger and thirst
The Hoerner-Ski-Pass allows unrestricted use of the slopes in Balderschwang, Ofterschwang, and Grasgehren in addition to Bolsterlang - an entry ticket for the adventure swimming pool Wonnemar in Sonthofen is also included. Of course you may rent, or buy, everything you need to enjoy your skiing holiday locally.
As our guest in Bolsterlang you can also take advantage of numerous other fantastic ski areas, such as the Nebelhorn, Fellhorn, Kleinwalsertal, or the Kaunertal glacier. All can be reached within a driving time from 20 minutes to 2 hours. The areas in Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal can also be easily reached by local ski-bus. |
