With its 1,456 m (4,777 ft), Großer Arber (by car only 5 minutes away) is the highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest and guarantees good snow conditions in winter. A new 6-person chair lift, a 6-person cable car, 8 kilometres of well-kept slopes, 4 cross country-skiing resorts, and Germany’s most modern snow machine... Großer Arber is every winter’s undefeated star.

It is not without good reason that Europa Cup races, World Cup races, and German Championships take place on the slopes of Großer Arber. And it is not without good reason that the Ski-Landesleistungszentrum (national ski training centre) is situated here (with an alpine race track, a biathlon and a cross country skiing stadium, and the Bavarian Forest’s ski-jump).
