The resort of Chamrousse is located at the edge of the Belledonne Alps with the capital city of Grenoble at its foot.
The top station "La Croix de Chamrousse" offers great panoramic views:
- East to "Les Grandes Rousses" and the "Oisans" ranges
- South to "Le Taillefer" and "Le Mont Aiguille
- West to "Le Plateau du Vercors"
- North to "La Chartreuse" and "Les Bauges"
and a general view over Grenoble and the valleys beyond.

By car: 30 kms from Grenoble (30 to 45 minutes)
By train: direct TGV Paris-Grenoble (3 hours)
By air: Grenoble Saint Geoirs airport: 60 kms
Lyon Saint Exupéry airport: 95 kms
The Skiing area:There are two base resorts in Chamrousse, separated by two kilometres, together forming the whole skiing area.
- Chamrousse 1650 (Recoin): athletic runs: 7 black, 4 red, 3 blue, and 3 green
- Chamrousse 1750 (Roche Béranger): more suitable for families or beginners: 3 red, 12 blue, 3 green runs.
In all Chamrousse has:- 35 runs: 7 black, 7 red, 15 blue and 6 green.
- 26 ski lifts: 1 cable car, 3 four-seater chair lifts, 6 other chairlifts and 16 tows.
- 77 kms of runs
- 1 "Kid Snowskate Park" located at "La Croix de Chamrousse"
- 1 "Half Pipe"
Snowboards and monoskis are allowed on all ski-lifts.
Artificial snow: Since 1993, snow canons cover 4700 metres of piste (ie 20 hectares) if necessary.
