General:
Meribel Valley
Méribel is all about those stuff-dreams-are-made-of chalets and fir trees you expect from a skiing resort. And, most importantly, nature has made it just perfect for skiing.
Its 150 km of slopes span areas with varied exposures to sunlight, and the lifts are outstanding. Everything here is about fun, hassle-free skiing.
There are spacious and flawlessly kept slopes for laid-back skiing, and more proficient skiers love the black slopes, the valley’s two snow parks and the itineraries.
Méribel Valley is at the heart of the Trois Vallées area. That means you won’t find a better place to enjoy this unique location’s every attraction. And travelling from one to the other couldn’t be smoother, either.
Trois Vallees, The World's Largest Ski Area
Fabulous skiing in an area that stretches beyond the imagination. That, in short, is what Trois Vallées is all about. Anyone who’s serious about skiing (or snowboarding, or course) has to experience it at least once in her or his lifetime!
Trois Vallées spans Courchevel and La Tania, Méribel and Brides-les-Bains, and Menuires, St-Martin-de-Belleville and Val Thorens resorts. These three valleys make up a ski area at the foot of more than 600 km of slopes. It’s the largest ski area in the world – and no other such area can boast so many slopes, such a variety of trails, and so many interlinking lifts.
Expert and novice skiers alike will find every slope they have dreamt of – and more – here.
Brides-les-Bains has a direct link to the heart of Trois Vallées, so you can explore this amazing site easily – and as often as you want to.
Ski Down Brides-les-Bains
An off-piste trail runs in the tracks of the 1950s derbies down the Saulire (2650 m) to the bottom of the valley in Brides village.
This off-piste trail starts in the Méribel Altiport/Méribel Village area, and will take you on one of the Alps’ more unusual excursions. The direct difference in altitude is more than 2000m, and much of the trail runs through forests. This profile and atmosphere are usually reserved for hikers.
It was passable for several weeks in 2003, but was usually only viable for a few days in previous years. And it’s an adventure you’ll love if you’re lucky enough to be here when the snow is right.
Note: beginners are advised not to try this trail. The slopes are not breathtakingly steep, but there is a lot of meandering through trees involved.
