Iso-Syote
Located approximately 150 kilometres from the Arctic Circle, Iso-Syöte is Finland’s southernmost fell region, and it also happens to be the Finnish region that gets the most snow. The blanket of snow covering the trees and landscape transforms nature into a fairy tale land.

Welcome to the winter vacationer’s paradise! Downhill skiing and cross-country skiing are popular activities at Iso-Syöte Fell. The well groomed slopes have something to offer to everyone. The ski trails that meander in the beautiful surroundings entice skiers into the heart of nature.
Two ski centres, over 20 slopes The fell area has two ski centres. Iso-Syöte Fell and Pikku-Syöte Fell across the valley offer downhill skiers alternatives ranging from easy to challenging. You can ski well into the evening on the lighted slopes, taking a break every now and then to visit the ski bistros to renew your energy.
Experience nature on skis Finland’s southernmost fell area is also the country’s snowiest region. The ski trails that criss-cross the fell area and the surroundings invite you to enjoy pristine nature and small adventures.
Try something new! The ski rental shops offer the possibility to try out the latest model skis and snowboards. Join the ski school to hone your skills, for example, on Telemark skis. The area’s new speciality is the Freeride area, which offers a challenge to even the experienced skier.

| Cross-country Skiing | Take a journey into a winter wonderland Ski trails for both fitness skiers and leisure skiers start in the Iso-Syöte Fell area – a total of 120 kilometres of excellent cross-country skiing!
You can ski on lighted fitness trails or pack a lunch in your backpack and spend the entire day in the National Park surroundings. There are rest stops with campfires along the way, or you can ski directly to the Ahmatupa coffee shop.
You can obtain information about the ski trails from the Visitor Centre or stores that rent skiing equipment. |
