WINTER WONDERLAND
It’s not the only Sub-Artic region to get significant snowfall during the year, of course, but it does add to the exotic appeal of visiting Finland. Home of the “magic” of Christmas, Sauna and a quietly modest people inspired by their environment. Winter lasts a long time and so makes a big impression with many special qualities all of its own. There are, as you may guess, many words to describe it and all the different kinds of snows in the Finnish language.
Imagine, instead of rain, it will snow. It rains a lot here in Wintertime but you don’t get wet! Instead, sound becomes softer and everywhere becomes bright white and fresh. Even at night, it helps make it lighter. Then imagine how it all just collects on the ground, roofs, and trees! This is the stuff of fairytales.
Temperatures do drop very low of course, but that just makes the snow dryer, lighter, and softer still. Whilst wearing warm clothes, being outside is a very refreshing experience. Stop for a moment and imagine how thick the ice can be on the lakes! Yes, you can guarantee a white Christmas in Finland, as well as a white Springtime.
As we all know, “there’s no business quite like “snow” business, there’s no business we know”.
