Tahko is one of the best known and most versatile holiday resorts in Finland. The changing seasons, from snowy winters to warm summer days, permit a wide range of exotic activities, and since all the facilities are close at hand, no precious holiday time is wasted getting from one place to another. You can go riding at Tahko whatever the weather all year round. The spacious riding school in The Riding Centre is the ideal place for practicing show jumping. The Centre arranges lessons and camps.

The biking terrain varies from speed routes along forest roads to almost vertical uphill stints and downhill runs. Anyone with competitive streak can take part in the Tahko MTB 120 mountain bike competition.

- Mozart opera in Finnish quartz quarry

22.-30.7. , Mozart's Magic Flute premiers at the venue in Nilsiä, in the northeast part of the pristine Savo region. Opera Cavo is the latest feather in singer Satu Vihavainen's cap. Half a dozen years ago, she set up a music festival in her native Nilsiä. The town first made opera fame four years ago when a piece by Joonas Kokkonen was produced there during four summers in Aholansaari.
