WINTER ACTIVITIES
The main activities in Ruka and Kuusamo are downhill skiing, nordic skiing, and snowmobiling. But there is a lot more to do here - take a look! Kuusamo is first and foremost a family resort. We will make sure the kids have fun, enabling the whole family to enjoy their vacation!

Sunny skies and wintry trails
Many of our guests are amazed by the amount of snow and the depth of the silence. Snowshoes or cross-country skis are a great way of making your own path across the snowy expanses to admire the whiteness of the winter in Kuusamo. Ice-fishing is another way of truly finding the essence of the silence.

Powered speed
Downhill skiing is by far the most popular winter activity at Ruka. If you feel shaky on slippery surface, we recommend you to take a lesson. The advices of our professional ski instructors will get you gliding dashingly in no time! Besides ski lifts, you can utilize the power of motors in many other ways: snowmobiling and winter karting are good fun for speed lovers. And you can even combine speed and silence on reindeer and husky safaris!

On your own or in a group - the choice is yours!
You can rent equipment for many sports and make your own trip to the surroundings. If you decide to join a group, our professional safari organizers will take a good care of you on the tailored safaris. Many of them have got their own non-stop weekly programs; starting times are always the same, and you can book your activity as late as on the previous day.

Ruka Winter Weekly Program offers unique and versatile activities for every day of the week. Some events are free of charge, others require pre-reservation.

Indoor action
If the weather is not for your favour, you can enjoy a day of activities and sports in RukaKlubi or tropical spa Holiday Club Kuusamo. What a treat!
