Spindleruv Mlyn belongs to one of the most popular skiing centres not just in Giant Mountains but in the whole Czech Republic. It is situated about 715 - 1310 metres above the sea level where the Dolsky stream joins the river Labe. The town lies in the Giant Mountain National Park, extends in an area of 77 square kilometres, and has 4 parts - Predni Labska, Labska, Bedrichov, and Svaty Petr. There lives about 1300 inhabitants during the year in Spindleruv Mlyn and in the season, it is increased for about 15 000 tourists.

Spindleruv Mlyn is an ideal place for tourists who can use plenty of tourist and cyclic routes. The first snow starts to show at the end of October but the main winter season starts in December and lasts until April. The most favourite skiing areas are Svaty Petr and Medvedin. Both of them have good snow conditions not just for professional skiers but for beginners, too. There are snowboard parks in both of them. If the weather isn't brilliant and there isn't enough snow, the slopes are artificially covered with snow.

Spindleruv Mlyn and its surrounding are also accessible to lovers of cross-country. There are also plenty of other sport activities - bobsleigh track, sledge slide, snowtubing, horse riding, horse carriages, fishing, playing tennis, squash, bowling and also swimmnig, use of sauna, fitness, sun beds, massages, paragliding, rafting, and other mountain activities. The offer should satisfy everyone. You can spend the evenings with friends in restaurants, bars, or night clubs.

Sledge Slide
Sledge slide in Špindleruv Mlýn enables you to go down the hill almost 4 km without making a single step!

- You can buy a ticket ring on the square of Špindleruv Mlýn next to the bus stop (to be found next to the post office) and a marked bus will take you to the sledge slide. At its start, we will lend you a sledge on which you will go down, back to Špindleruv Mlýn where you will give it back into a marked bus.
- Then you can go back to the square of Špindleruv Mlýn again by our bus or you can take a short walk along the river Labe. It´s up to you.
- Sledge slide is in order only when the weather is suitable and the road to Špindlerova is passable.
- You can get informed about the departures of the buses at the bus stops on the square where you can buy the tickets as well.
- The tickets are also sold at the reception areas of exquisite hotels and in the information centres.
- Children undrer 6 can use the sledge slide only with an adult or an older child.
- The sledge is only for one adult person or an adult with a child under 6.
- Try night sledding with lightned sledge.
- The track is daily ploughed.
- Each ticket is also insured against any possible injury.
