Lammertal-Dachstein West

Where guests become friends...

The ski region of Lammertal-Dachstein West in the Salzburger Land combines four villages - Abtenau, Annaberg/Lungötz, Rußbach and St. Martin which boast more than 145 km of family-freindly dream runs for skiers of every ability, 130 km of connected cross-country trails and 150 km of walking tracks. The modern snow-making equipment throughout the region helps to keep the pistes on the main runs well-prepared until late spring. Children frequently have fun with the simplest things during the holidays. A romp in the snow, gliding down the gentle slopes on a sledge, and making friends during a snowball battle. The little ones (from 3 years) will start their first crawling efforts in the Ski-Kindergarten where all-day care is provided. The region is known as a popular ski centre for families with small kids due to its hotels geared to children. The children's club 'Spatzennest' povides a child-minding service from Monday to Sunday by a highly-skilled nanny. While the kids enjoy a unique entertainment program, their parents can revive their spirits with skiing fun or just let themselves be pampered by the soft side of winter. Après-Ski - a number of restaurants, inns and snack bars, as well as alpine lodges, offer local specialities for every palate. The local gastronomy invites for social après-ski activities. Soft winter and fun-tastic activities...

Postalm – with its slightly hilly landscape based on 1.600 m – offers perfect conditions for a backcountry tour. SNOWBIKING ...means snow and fun for everyone and skiing experience is not required.

Trails and Routes

General:

Those taking a winter holiday in the Lammertal are on the right track! Because they have the choice of the loveliest ski areas in the province of Salzburg, right at their doorstep. The Dachstein West ski region, Abtenau, Lungötz, Postalm and St. Martin communities alone offer more than 50 cable-cars and lifts, and more than 90km of family-friendly dream runs to suit all grades of ability.

Deep-snow slopes, mogul runs, boarder park and jolly rustic alpine-meadow huts round it all off to make a skiing holiday in the Lammertal-Dachstein West holiday region pure enjoyment.

Cross-country Skiing  From December 2004, we prepare more than 200 km X-Country tracks.Hiking  The hiker's paradise of Lammertal-Dachstein West, surrounded by the breathtaking mountains of the Dachstein range, the Tennen Mountains and Gosaukamm is perfect for nature-loving families. The mountain experience still belongs to the most fascinating impressions of life and invites to drift away from the daily routine for a while.

" Tennengau Trekking Family" creates a brand new holiday dimension for families: A mixture of traditional hiking and three full days of trekking, pure nature, fresh air and alpine impressions.
One week of "Tennengau Trekking Family" combines 12 hours of trekking with the surmount of 1.600 m altitude without overtaxation. The program is bookable weekly between mid-june and mid-september.Mountain Biking  Today's outdoor fans are looking to go higher and higher each and every time out - and with current mountainbike technology, that's never an issue ... even for adventure-hungry kids!

Awaiting you in the mountainbiking world on the Salzach and Lammer rivers, is a wealth of opportunities. And just because you're out on your bike, doesn't mean you have to be dripping with sweat. The family routes which run along our wild and romantic mountain rivers and through fragrant pine forests, are the ultimate hot tip for families with kids.

But of course, taking your body and mind to the max is also definitely an option in the Lammertal. Variety-packed routes featuring all degrees of difficulty, such as the Dachstein Circuit through the Salzburg Dolomites, are a true challenge for athletically-inclined bikers.
