As Austrian Michael Walchhofer won the downhill race at last year´s World Ski Championships, one thing became clear to us: Altenmarkt/Zauchensee has a true championship atmosphere!

We have all the know-how, the slopes, the cross-country trails, and the experience that elite athletes need. Well, every star has to start somewhere. Altenmarkt/Zauchensee offers a wide range of winter sports for everyone and every ability level.

Skiers, snowboarders, XC skiers, backcountry fans and sledders will find everything they desire for a perfect winter vacation!

Zauchensee is nestled at an elevation of 1,350 m in the heart of the "Salzburger Sportwelt" with a total of 270 ski lifts and 860 km of slopes. Enjoy skiing with virtually guaranteed snow from late November through early May! Zauchensee itself has 135 km of ski runs for recreational and elite athletes alike. 3 gondolas, 11 chair lifts and 7 T-bar lifts take skiers up the mountain. 4 ski schools offer qualified instruction. You can measure your speed on a race track.

Close access to the A10 motorway, plenty of space in the new underground car park, free ski shuttles.
